I purchased two pistols in the past month. For the first one I received a CFO reference number three days later. I assume this means that the dealer has initiated the transfer with the CFO and is waiting for them to complete their end.

For the second pistol, I purchased it two weeks ago and have yet to receive a CFO reference number. I know everyone is getting slammed with all these transfers but should I be following up on this?

It’s entirely up to the discretion of the shop to send you the transfer number. It’s not an ‘official’ part of the process for them you give you the number.

Back when transfers were done in 1-2 days, there actually wasn’t even any benefit to having it.

If you’re that worried about it, call the shop and ask for it.

I had the same issue with a couple- go back to the vendors website, log in, and view order.

Your transfer number is going to be a 7 digit number, starting with a 59xxxxx or 60xxxxx. Sometimes it’s hidden on the order page and just sitting there as a seemingly random number.
