First handgun, should I pick up the Smith&Wesson M&P9 or the CZ P10 F?

For the M&P9, is it better to get optic ready ($1200), red dot ($1300) or the Range kit ($1100)?

Or a Glock 17 Gen 3?

Both are great, flip a coin.

My personal choice would be m&p9 because the grip feels great in my hands and there are shitloads of parts available.

It's always better to get the optic ready just incase you want a red-dot down the road, a custom optics cut will run you hundreds of dollars.

Thanks I was leaning towards m&p9 but a friend of mine told me he found a site with the glock g17 gen 3 in stock and told me to buy now and think later. So I kinda impulse brought the glock g17 lol...

Did I make a mistake getting the G17 over the M&P9?

G17 is a solid choice too. There is an issue with trigger reset on the gen 3's, i'm not sure if its an issue on modern production gen 3s, something to look into.
