I applied for my PAL 2021-09-20 and I have still not received anything about it. Online it says the initial review of my application is complete and to check back at a later date. I guess my question is what the heck is taking so long

Mine was stuck on initial review for around 6 months and I called and they told me that photo wasn’t on photo paper and a notice was sent but I never received it. Sent a new picture and 3 months later had my card in hand

Where did you get the picture taken? Photo paper as in proper like passport photo type material?

I printed my selfie at home on photo paper and it was fine.

I took it at home and thought just normal copy paper would be fine. Dumb mistake I guess. Reprinted it on photo paper and all was good

That’s fair. I just tell everyone not to risk getting a delay and just pay a photographer.

For sure. Doing it myself didn’t save me any time or money
