In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Is this the biggest canada's firearms subreddit? am i on the right way? btw im a international student(20yo) in canada, can i buy a gun legally?

Once you take the CFSC and/or CRFSC and apply for your PAL or rPAL, yes you will be able to purchase a gun in 6 or 8 months. You will need references for that application as well.

If OP is in Ontario I was told recently the wait is 9 months now

Yeah I even asked them if there was an issue with my application and why ppl from April and May are already getting their licenses but people from February and even earlier are still waiting and all they said was expect 9 month delay, we can't give you an expected date

Which province is the 6-8 month for? Or is it like the average for canada

In Alberta it took me just about 3.5 months from doing my course to license arrived in the mail so depending where you live it might not suck as much lol
