A question for everyone. Does anyone have a realistic idea of how long it will take before bill c-21 is passed through parliament? And take effect? I sent in my RPAL application two weeks ago, I'm hoping I can get my license and purchase a gun before the freeze takes place? What are the chances?

I'm sorry to say, but the chances of you purchasing a handgun before the freeze is nigh 0. It will take on the order of 3 to 4 months before your application is completed, if it simply goes smoothly.

I'm not 100% sure on what can delay the bill; I'm not up on procedure here. Earliest seems to be early October. Latest... no idea, weeks later? I really don't know what could happen... maybe calling a very early election would interrupt everything for long enough.
