Applied for PAL and RPAL. Just got my PAL in the mail. Is RPAL and PAL two different cards? Are they usually sent together or separate?

They don't issue the card with the restricted designation (the letter R) until after you make your first restricted purchase.

Edit: my mistake. Missed the part where they didn't print the RPAL part on the back and meant they were going to re-issue with the att and extra number.

How do I make a R purchase with a non-R licence?

He's wrong. Your card will say non-restricted and restricted on the back from the get go.

The only thing they update after your first restricted purchase is the number.

Yeah I should have been more clear with my answer. They have that stuff on the back but then they reissue a card to make it more obvious.

They reissue the card with the newly applicable conditions on it for transport of restricted (because now they apply to you). Not to change the font or whatever.
