Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Should I tell the post office to hold my mail a few days before I expect a gun to come in? I don’t want it to arrive when I’m not there and I live in a slightly sketchy area

Firearms require 18+ signatures, like booze or weed. If you're not home you'll get a parcel slip to pick up at your post office.

I’ve had them still be lazy and drop restricted firearms on my front door. I live downtown! 🤦‍♂️

Almost all my restricteds I got in store. The one that was delivered was in an all wrapped black package. It was clearly marked OSR yet they still left it at the door
