This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Timeline for SK transfers? Been over a month now...

I’m sitting at just over a month as well. Shop told me at the time it was taking 34-40 days on average. I’m guessing it’s probably going to be more then that.

I'm in BC and had transfers come through in 9 days from end of July. Seems to be zero rhyme or reason to the transfer process.

Yea I bought two handguns, different retailers online.
The handgun I bought 2 days LATER than the first was in my hands with the registration about 2.5 weeks later.

I haven't even received approval on the first one, but I have the transfer number so I know it's initiated.

Zero rhyme or reason is correct. Now I just giggle at people thinking they can guesstimate their transfer approval in these questions.

lol.Ya Definately not possibel to guesstimate transfer times in this climate.
