Does it take longer to get approved for an RPAL than it does for a PAL? And does anyone know the difference in time?

Is the application and level of scrutiny the same for both?

I'm in Ontario btw, if that matters.

From my understanding you're looking at the same amount of time. It's "faster" to do it all at once so you aren't stuck with the mandatory 30 days when upgrading.

Scrutiny should be about the same unless you answer yes to any of the mental health questions. At that point it's anyone's guess how long it could take.

Expect about 3-6 months at a minimum
