Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

hopefully it's just sitting in a pile, shit deal though, not sure if they'd have record of it if it's sitting in a pile pre initial review. wished they realize how messed up this system is. hope you get a a nice surprise sooner then later

Thanks, hopefully too. The system is messy and underfunded to begin with, it's as if we don't have a gun culture to start with ...

If the application is really lost that's the worst and most annoying outcome. I procrastinated last year and didn't get my license so it's on me. However I was looking forward to getting rifled too if I missed the handgun deadline.

The fact the Liberals used "within my power" to ban imports sucks, banning registration sucks but ultimately it's on me for not getting it done sooner. However not getting my license for the rifles is the worst problem from this whole endeavor

yea its wild, but they make it difficult on purpose. there's no reason they can't make this system alot more streamlined

Indeed, let's hope at least for the future they will (for renewals and non restricted at that point only assuming they don't further restrict things)
