Need help. Vortex diamondback tactical ffp 4-16 or 6-24? For hunting mostly but I wanna do long range target shooting too throughout the year

I'm considering the same scope, and I'll be going 4-16x.

From what I've read, and the ranges I'll be shooting (400 yds max), the 6-24 would be too powerful for me.

I've no experience yet so take this with a boulder of salt

Ya 400 yards with that would make more sense. I'm 50 - 1000 yards max.
