anyone have the Ruger Mark IV Target, 5.50" Threaded Barrel, Black Anodize, 22LR?

good beginner handgun for target shooting?

It’s a fun gun to plink but thr controls aren’t the same as regular handguns so you won’t get familiarity with where safeties are and etc

i ordered sig p320 and sw mp2.0 too! but theyre both 9mm and i want something i can just get a handle of shooting with and where ammo isnt too expensive/jard to find.

Both of those will shoot fine :) I wouldn’t worry too much about it just go slow. By my 2-3 time shooting hand guns I got used to it! I’m sure it’ll be similar for you too. 9mm and 22LR are both very abundant.

If you’re open to it highly recommend getting a DA/SA pistol as well as the 2 you’ve bought are both striker fire.

P226, Shadow 1, Shadow 2, some of these will be hard to find.

Tanfoglio Stock 2 or Stock 2 extreme is a great amazing gun that would be great for competitions in the future too but it is a lot pricier

great suggestions! i was looking at cz 75 and shadow 2 but like youve said, pretty hard to find.

honestly, dont even know the diff between da/sa and striker fire. these are all panic buys from recent announcement haha. 🤦🏻‍♀️

SADA has a hammer and are often metal frame they shoot smoother imo but slightly pricier and more moving parts.

Strikers are polymer and designed to be light for carry but as a result they recoil worse and often triggers don’t feel as nice

No haha not at all the firing mechanism is a hammer. DA or double action means if there’s a round in the gun even if you don’t cock the hammer by pulling the trigger the gun will go off. Striker fires have to be cocked and if it’s not cocked nothing happens when you press the trigger
