This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Buy a 12ga, thank me later for the cheaper, more plentiful ammo.

Also, buy the shotgun that fits

I’m very smol… 5’4” 125lbs. Figured a 20ga would be a better option. Would you still say 12?

12ga 1oz light load is easily available in flats (250)(about $100 now)(what my wife and I will be using this morning a Trap)

20ga is not
