In Nova Scotia, I just got my RPAL and joined a range. I don't have a membership number yet, but would like to buy a pistol. Will the RCMP reject the transfer while I'm waiting for my membership number?

They can reject a transfer if you aren't able to provide them the information that they request to see. Typically they should give you a decent window of time in order to provide them that information however. I'm not sure if it varies from province to province, but my CFO gives 45 days to reply with a membership card.
