Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Update on PAL/RPAL application in ON

Mailed: March 10th

Received: March 18th

Cc charged/initial review completed: June 15th

Forwarded to CFO: July 5th (verbally confirmed with RCMP)

In Ontario. Yes to question 16 d) for depression. Included note from my doctor in application stating they are supportive of me having firearms.

Was able to get through to RCMP after only a few hold/drop cycles. Keep trying folks.
