Pal card is going to arrive in the next couple days or so, and I'm going to start looking at buying used firearms locally. Anyone want to share their checklist of things you inspect while deciding if you want to purchase the gun you're looking at? The more details the better.

How do you know it’s coming in the next couple days?

I got a call from the office of the CFO the Monday before last who said I was approved, sent me a confirmation email with my pal number and said to allow for about 2 weeks for the card to arrive.

Interesting. So the cadence is once you get billed, the start assessing your application. Then once it's approved, they call you with the number so you can start purchasing and then eventually send the card in the mail?

I don't know if I'm an outlier because I had checked the box on my application saying that I had sought treatment for depression, which complicated my process. I think that's possible. As far as purchasing using just the number, the lady said that it is technically legal but she has doubts that many stores would accept the number without the card. I figure I could probably buy online and just plug the number in, but I'm not so interested in that.
