This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.
In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

I agree with you overall, but I’ve heard safest is to have the original with you with the gun so your ass is fully covered just in case some stickler is after you. If it were ever lost then the gun would also be lost and you’d be falling back to a copy stored at home.
