Either the calls are getting better or I was lucky as fuck. Called 3 times and was on hold for 35min on the third try and got through to someone. She was super nice and helpful btw. Went through the info for my private purchase and she told me about the other transfers I am waiting on, even transferred my to the provincial line to ask about one that shows approved but no email was sent out.

How long did it take for your private purchase to go through?

I’ll have to let you know, I just called it in Friday afternoon, miramachi patched me through to sk Sfp and they were awesome and pushed my others through, but said this private one I JUST called in on will take a bit, I might try calling back in a week if I don’t hear anything.

Oh wow, that's super lucky.

One of mine has been sitting in que for like 40 days now. I want to call in to see where it's at, but don't want to be a nuisance if they are doing all they can to push the transfer through.

Depends on the province as to what’s “acceptable” since I had to call in as the buyer of a private transaction and because I haven’t received a registration from a gun 8 weeks ago I had a good excuse to both miramachi and my province to ask about my open transfers. Having said that, as long as you are courteous on your end I think they would help you regardless. I imagine they are dealing with some massively impatient pricks right now so a little kindness goes a long way.

When I called in, it was actually not about restricted transfer, but about a delayed reference number that was a bit of concerns.

I believed the 2 agents I talked to don't have ability to do the transfer themselves (one of them said they haven't done the training yet). But they can look into different information like how many restricted I have and other general enquiries. I would still need to be transfer to the right CFO by them.

Since I am in BC, the restricted seems to take on average 20 days to clear, but lately, it has gone to 40 days mark. However, one I bought this Thursday just got cleared today, so I was surprised but as other mentioned it, it might have fallen to new agents desk. I will give it another week or so as well and see what happens.

Delayed reference number? Just the shop or person didn’t get it to you?

Happened to me and another Redditor here.

We bought something at Cabela in May trying to beat the May 18th date. Managed to get it done before 18th so was relieved.

Fast forward to July 13, both of us got a reference number out of nowhere from Cabela's when we didn't buy any NR in July, so we thought our PAL got compromise so he called Cabelas, and I called CFP.

From what Cabela's and CFP said, someone inadvertently send out the orders from before the May 18th to CFP in July. So the NRs didn't need the reference # ending up getting one by accident. Hence our surprise reference number.

Weird… Cabela’s at it again though haha, hear nothing but horror stories about them unless it’s in person purchases.

They were in person purchases, lol.

I am actually quite happy with their service, they just have a tendency of ignoring people call sometimes (physical location, not online customer service line)

I generally don't shop there due to higher price for ammo and firearms.

May18th and may30 made a lot of people buy shit when and where they weren’t expecting lol myself included… I just need to remember how much the mrs let me buy in a 3 week span… she’s earned some massive brownie points there haha

I know what's you mean. And the worst part is that after you gone through all that hassle to do lots of research and buying the NRs you want, you plan to take a breather. Then June "sales" event starts.....

I will be eating ramen for weeks, good thing I don't need brownie points, just a strong willl against looking at online catalog.
