Just recieved my pal, looking to buy my first .22 and deer rifle. I plan on using the .22 to improve my aim, and hunt with the other rifle. I was thinking of picking up a .308 win rifle, but I'm not sure.

Any suggestions on specific guns to look at? Not looking for anything crazy, just a couple solid beginner guns.

Cant go wrong with a Ruger 10/22
As for the deer rifle, lots of options, depends on your price range as well. Heard from quite a few people suggesting the Tikka T3x. I just picked one up myself in .308 WIN but havent had the chance to use it yet.
