I want to add a revolver to my collection while I still can, and was always under the impression that a Smith & Wesson 686 is a popular, reliable model. However, I can’t find any in stock. Are there any alternatives I should be considering, or any less popular retailers that may have stock?

Ruger GP100 is in the price range of the 686 as well if you can't quite afford a python.
