We need a provincial party in parliament. I know the bloc québécois has a bad press sometimes but I like its purpose. Basically representing the provinces interests, not only for Quebec but other ones as well.

Their problem wasn't bad press so much as Duceppe going all in on his own Quebec issues in response to the sponsorship scandal. Bashing the Liberals made for good attention but it didn't translate into actual support for his platform because mutual enemies don't necessarily make allies when there's more than two sides to choose from. I feel like Smith is going to learn the same lesson here.

They're a more national minded party now heavily because the uncompromising separatist rhetoric kept hurting them, both in and out of Quebec.
