What happened to that thing where they were trying to freeze the buying and selling of handguns? I am getting my PAL and would like to get my RPAL but see no reason to waste the money if handguns will just be banned anyways.

Even if they are banned they're probably going to get unbanned. Just get your RPAL

No way. Has anything ever been unbanned?

Yeah. ARs have been banned, unbanned, banned and then unbanned in the 70s as far as I remember. LGR was repealed by Harper and people weren't clamoring for guns like they are today.

Proof of concept exists and the CPC knows that they have a loyal voter base if they win. Pierre having 300k new members eligible to vote is saying something. Canadians want guns now.

It's possible for some current nonrestricted firearms to be moved to restricted status if the antigunners keep protesting against nonrestricted centerfire semiautos. And there are already rifles that are restricted. Not telling you what to do, but I would still get an RPAL now so I won't get stuck in a queue later if people start rushing to get it. As we found out with the handgun freeze, it can pay off to be prepared with an RPAL even if you currently don't need it.

It's still going on, it will go through however handguns aren't the only restricted and the CPC might overturn this. You can try but you probably won't get handguns for atleast a few years
