affordability

And how has the current government made life more affordable since they came to power?

I pay a lot less for daycare, that's about it though.

Doesn't offset the cost of housing , fuel and inflation though..

At least it didn't add to it. You asked and I answered, don't move the goal posts.

Ah, "fuck you got mine", nothing more emblematic of the LPC partisans here. At least the NDP types actually care about working on a middle ground.

Are you referring to me, the person that's happy to get reduced rates after paying for daycare for 6 years?

Glad to hear you saved 50% or whatever on childcare and somehow it's an expense significant enough to where you made it out in the green under this government. Now if you don't mind, I have lentils and beans to soak while I siphon gas so I can make it to school so maybe I can get a job where I can afford a $300K down payment in 10 years.

Pull yourself up by the bootstraps and get a better paying job.

Spoken like a true Neolib. Enjoy that daycare buddy, you earned it.

Edit : Can I siphon gas from your car by the way? I promise I won't cough it out.

Uttering threats now? Did we both manage to piss you off? Why are you threatening to Kurt Cobain someone?

Thanks for the advice. I'll take the catalytic converter while I'm at it.

The original statement you were replying to mentioned cost of living in general. You specifically mentioned day care as if that disproves what he said.

The question I responded to was how has the govt reduced the cost of living. Which they have by reducing my daycare rates so they don't add to the world-wide inflation rates and ridiculous amount of taxes we pay.

I'm paying out the gas for my car, I'm paying out the ass for food, I'm paying out the ass for ammo and equipment and housing is out of reach.

Sure, daycare is the most pressing matter.

To a lot of people it is. Also, Politicians don't control the price of gas, or housing, or food, or anything else you buy from a capitalist market. Not unless you want to bring in socialist price controls.

And before you go on and on about the carbon tax, I don't care, and to address the rest of the taxes on gas - reducing them will only allow price creep to occur. Then we're losers all around, the price of gas is the same and now we have less revenue to fund the province. Which is exactly what happened in Alberta and is going to happen in Ontario.

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '22

... what? All of what you said is just horse shit but that's getting way off topic.

I wasn't even going to mention the carbon tax but the fact that you don't care is yet again another example of self centered urbanite. Who would have guessed. "Fuck you got mine" seems to be on the dot

"I don't like what you said therefore it's bullshit."

Also - you don't seem to understand what the saying "fuck you I got mine" means eh? I support child care spending even though I'm at the end of my having to pay for it. I think a UBI should be piloted better because one of the root causes of gun crime is extreme poverty. I support more social programs for everyone.

So no, I don't think "fuck you I got mine" is a appropriate description of me. You should probably try and insult me by calling me a socialist.

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '22

No it's not the case but I appear to have pressed one too many buttons. You're ranting now for very little good reason and putting words into my mouth to try and make yourself feel better. You're indirectly implying how virtuous you are by stating your beliefs and what the government should do. We're on a gun related subreddit*.

I don't really care.

2

u/Cadaren99 on Jun 11 '22

You are utterly frustrating to argue with. This is why we're losing the gun debate, people like yourself can't string a complete and logical thought together.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '22

Frustrating to argue with? I'm not trying to waste time arguing about politics that aren't related to guns in any matter. Someone asked you how cost of living has improved at all, now here you are ranting about socialism and trying to prove how good of a person you are. I never wanted to argue.

"People like myself" aren't the reason why we're losing the gun debate. People like you voting liberal are why this debate is in such a bad state; liberal voters give liberals more room to talk and act irrational towards guns.
