“There is no core identity, no mainstream in Canada.” Canadians, however, know this isn’t true.

Trudeau gets too much shit for this comment. An Albertan isn't a Quebecer isn't an Ontarian. I don't know about everybody else, but I hate it when politicians try to lump everybody together and impose "common values" on everybody (that invariably advance their agenda). Like

Overwhelmingly, we believe in democracy, fairness, opportunity, diversity, openness

Whoop de fucking doo. These are empty platitudes that most of the world claims to believe in.

gun control and reproductive rights

At least on gun control, values vary greatly across the country. This is what I'm talking about.

He's obviously right about importing tragedy, but I'm not on board with the rest of that at all.

Democracy just means rule by the elites who own or control the media and politicians.
