Anyone else just start thinking about our current government and just think "holy fuck everything is so fucked".

I have never liked this government, but it feels like everything has combined into one shit storm and created the worst possible scenario.

The boiling frog effect, a continual slandering of alternative media, and persistent lying about the right has caused the majority of Trudeau voters to be unaware that they are supporting an authoritarian fascist. The FNIC for me was when he said "right wing terrorism is on the rise in Canada". Like..what? Objectively it isn't. But he is out to paint an entire political movement as terrorists. Sorta like another famous dictator. People think fascism is someone pulling you out of your home at gunpoint. And after a year of everyone labeling their political opponents as fascists the word has lost its meaning and we can't recognize it anymore. But we are definitely most certainly there. Think about travel mask laws. Just us and NK, China remain. Purely punitive and authoritarian.

I'm also starting to see some signs that, at least the media are realizing that it's all going a little too far... The more thoughtful and mature of them, at least.

Russel Brand did a good job of calling him out. As good as i sound in my own head i am horrible at articulating my thoughts but i think he summed it up pretty well.

He also calls him out pretty hard in another video over freezing peoples bank accounts and invoking the emergencies act but this is the most recent video.

The problem for anyone who doesn't identify as a social conservative is that there's no alternative. IMO there's a case to be made that the CPC embraced the views of those threatening overt violence

If the CPC represented a moderate fiscal conservative platform it would be one thing. But they court the extreme right as well.

Modern-thinking folks likely have fears that those people will roll back things that shouldn't be rolled back.
