preaching to the choir here but the wsj editorial board pointing out Trudeau's gun legislation is more of a response to American gun crime than Canadian gun crime, and they also point out how Canadian governments in general like to respond to things that happen in America

(and my comment on this is that Canadians identify themselves as being better than Americans so it doesn't matter if we already have strong gun laws, as long as we keep one upping the Americans, then most Canadians will be happy)
