(2) Paragraph (1)(a) does not include any cartridge magazine that

(a) was originally designed or manufactured for use in a firearm that

(i) is chambered for, or designed to use, rimfire cartridges,

(ii) is a rifle of the type commonly known as the “Lee Enfield” rifle, where the magazine is capable of containing NOT MORE than 10 cartridges of the type for which the magazine was originally designed, or

There is no agree to disagree the law is straight forward, a Lee Enfield magazine containing more than 10 rounds is a prohibited device. The key wording is "not more then 10 cartridges". For context this list is the list of exceptions to the magazine limit rule. To decode legalise it is saying directly that the Lee Enfield is not subject to the 5 round limit however is subject to a 10 round limit as described in paragraph 2(a)(ii) because the wording says not more then 10 cartridges. Meaning if you had more then 10 cartridges the magazine no longer qualifies for the exemption from paragraph 1 and would have to be pinned or else you'd be thrown in prison. This exist because some super rare full auto called the Charlton uses Lee Enfield mags. But yeah you can't have a 20 round Lee Enfield mag

Yes that lists rimfires, Lee Enfields, and M1 Garands as an exemption but you have to actually read the wording as it puts a limit on the exemption, you're just wrong. Lee Enfield mags can not lawfully exceed 10 rounds. Essentially it's an exemption to an exemption and quite clearly states that the exception doesn't apply to Lee Enfield magazines containing more then 10 rounds

But Lee Enfield isn't semi-automatic, they just made an error.

Hehehe fair enough, but no this isn't an error. There was one super obscure New Zealander machine gun that accepted Lee Enfield mags (Charlton) so they made it so they had to be pinned.

Extremely obscure is sufficient to Taser me and take my guns, never mind Canada vs. Automatic firearms or Auto conversions.
