Thinking about buying a pistol on gunpost and the guy said he could get help from a local gun shop to consignment so it goes threw the business line but he needs my date of birth and place of birth, should I give it to him and can he do that?

Even for businesses they need to call in for used and consignment I’m afraid…

I’m a new restricted owner but I know the gun stores did require that info from me.
