I bought a handgun from an individual for the first time and waiting for the Transfer Notification (buyer), then I have to go fetch it at his home. In the past I always bought online so it was delivered directly to me.

Can you guys confirm this is right:

  1. Even with the Transfer Notification in hand, I still need to call to get an Authorization To Transport (ATT)
  2. I don't need the registrations for the gun just to bring it home. Only when I bring it to the range the first time

Edit: I just re-read my "Special conditions" paper and it says:

The license conditions authorize [...] transport of a newly acquired restricted firearms from the place of acquisition to the license holder's dwelling house [...]

Should be all good then, ATT not necessary.

Yeah, with that on your Conditions Slip and the Transfer Notification letter saying that you can now take possession of it, you're good to pick it up. It's one of the few instances where you don't need a traditional ATT (since you don't even have the registration certificate for it yet).
