Glock makes many different models; some car fairly similar to each other, while some are quite different. Different specs may have different purposes, or people might have deliberate uses for each. An example would be something like a glock 19 that has a small frame and a short slide and barrel setup that’s maybe used for range days/plinking/tactical courses, and maybe they have something like a glock 34 that has a larger frame and longer slide/barrel for competition shooting. There are a lot of people who like to have sets of things too that will buy one of each to have a collection of them

If it was my money, I would buy a glock 17, and if I was looking for a second 9mm it would be a sig sauer P226. Then you have one polymer striker fired gun, and one full metal hammer fired one. Both are dead reliable and bulletproof, with a healthy aftermarket, holsters and. parts that are easy to find and magazines that are affordable.

It is not a cheap hobby, unfortunately. The good news is that if you spend the money up front on something quality, you’ll have it forever
