I often heard PPC voters say things like "I'm going to vote for what I want rather than the lesser of two evils" or "We're never getting change if we keep voting for the status quo". These people don't know how our political system works. The general election is not the time or place to be voting for what you agree with 100%. Voting for policy change happens at the party convention stage. You can try to influence the policies of the major parties during the party conventions, but after the major (edit) parties vote on their official policies, those major parties and their official policies are your only realistic options in a general election. Creating a new splinter party will only hurt your side of the political spectrum. Think of it this way: If the right leaning CPC didn't even adopt your favored policies, what chance in hell would your new fringe party have in getting your policies voted in by the rest of Canada that is far more left leaning than even the CPC? If you don't like the direction the CPC is going, then change it at the convention stage. But once it's general election time and you don't see a party that you agree with 100%, it's not the time to play a vain offensive play. Your only option is to play defensively and vote for the party that will make you lose the least yards. That party was the CPC in the last election. Even if the Toole didn't revoke the OIC, we still would have been better off than what's going to come on Monday.
