Let's face it--we're fucked. The reason things probably won't change much in the US is not only 2A, but the fact there are so many gun owners in the US, and especially their recognition that a firearm is a viable form of self defense.

It's often cited that there are 2.2 million gun owners in Canada, but I don't trust that number as a lot of them are Fudds who couldn't care less if they banned "scary rifles" or handguns because they mistakenly think they won't come after their guns. I know several myself. There's only about 650,000 RPAL holders who really have something to lose and that's just not enough to make a difference.

We might get a reprieve for 4 years if PP wins the next election, but sooner or later, we're going to end up the way of Australia, NZ, etc and a lot of the blame is on us because we love to preach to the choir rather than getting more people owning guns.

Someone posted in this sub a while ago that gun ranges in Ontario tend to be snobbish and elite and restrict membership. I know here in Winnipeg, gun ranges are almost a secret, I also had high hopes for the CCFR National Range Day on June 4th, but that looks like a total bust as I haven't seen one single ad anywhere and only one gun club in rural Manitoba participating.

I tried to convince myself for a couple months after the OIC that it was reversible but that has long gone in me.

I keep saying it, but it bears repeating. In the next 25 years Canada will have worse gun laws than both Australia and the UK because the LPC will take the worst of both, none of the silver lining, and combine them with our own nonsense.
