CBC just aired this on national TV. They did interview Rod Giltaca for once, but they actually said AR's "can include a feature to prevent jams" referring to the charging handle or the forward assist... holy fuck I just lost brain cells.

Edit: This also wasn't just an aside, it was them trying to demonize the AR. Basically insinuating that it's only there so you can clear jams to keep shooting people.

I love how the utility of the forward assist is so hotly debated that it’s become a meme, then the firearms experts at CBC come in and say it’s a magic button that will fix a double feed instantly like magic. Then they’ll bitch non stop about how fake news is subverting democracy or something.
