Thoughts on the Ruger American Ranch in 5.56? Gonna buy my first rifle in a couple weeks and I'm just wondering if this is a good buy. I like the idea of the detachable AR magazines but know nothing else about these guns. Reviews seem mixed.

Ruger American is a great line of rifles so no issues there. A complaint I have heard is that the finish scratches easily but that's it.

The Ranch model won't work with aftermarket chassis like Magpul or MDT. The action will fit, but you won't be able to find magazines that will feed properly afterwards.
