Looking at a map of my municipality and I see some blocks of patented crown land near me, cant seem to find a straight answer what the difference is and if I can target shoot there or not?

According to google, a Crown Patent is a legal document that transfers land from the crown to a private owner. So I would imagine patented crown land is land that is owned by someone. Which means you would need their permission to shoot on their land. Barring municipal firearm discharge laws of course.

After find out more about how to use the Atlas I've found it is a general use area of crown land belonging to the peterborough region or something, it says it allows fishing and hunting.
