Currently split between a gsg 16, gsg stg 44 or a 10/22. I really like the 10/22 but i don't want to spend the $80 on a magazine adapter then have to find mags so im not limited to 10 rounds. Anyone have any experience with gsg products? Going to be using it as a range toy mostly.

I didn't feel the need to spend extra on looks, IMNSHO the money is better spent on a scope or the next rifle.

The GSG-16 is great range toy as long as you clean/lube it properly and feed it decent ammo (CCI mini mags works great). Yes it's plastic and feels cheap but the MP5 slap is just sooo fun.

Stg 44 is cool but super duper heavy, I’d go with that gsg16 a 10/22 or the b22 like u/beretta_errata said

B22 = bolt
A22 = autoloader (semi auto)

The GSG's are fun range plinkers that look great but likely won't be as reliable as the 10/22.

Id buy a GSG as a first fun toy and invest into a 10/22 for a long term project. Lots of upgrades available for the 10/22 platform.

The 10/22 is a proven rifle, and higher quality. I get the tacticool appeal of the GSGs, but it's better to buy a good rifle from the beginning and learn how to use it, than a rifle that you buy because it looks cool but that you regret when you're more experienced. I'd recommend the 10/22, and I wouldn't even worry about having more rounds than 10 for a range toy, personally. Then, if you want to branch out into hunting later, you have a reliable tool to use. Just my two cents.
