Gun and gear reviews MK-15 is peak
Absolutely in love with this thing. 500 rounds yesterday with out issue (I know it’s not a lot)
only thing is it’s stiff for about the first 20 rounds. The bolt wouldn’t close on 5 rounds. So shot 5 4 round mags then it took full mags no problem. The bolt would also close at first on the empty mag like it had another round to go. (Only happened on first 2 mags) believe it was also just because it was stiff. After it loosened up It was smooth sailing. (Give your rifle a chance to loosen up a bit and don’t immediately think it’s fucked)
Also takes the crossmags no problem.
Very well built rifle though. All metal parts including the stock.
QC issues have all been fixed from what I can see (charging handle digging in, etc)

Corrupt government, that’s for sure. Wouldn’t of given it up though until the court case was finalized

What's the accuracy like, did you do any testing at 100m?

1.25moa for a duty rifle is fantastic. Now only for it to actually cycle.

Yeup was a bitch to get it cycling, but I got mine running slick as pig shit. Has been a riot after the initial headache

u/BowFella 23h ago
What'd you do to get it running? I heard guys were cleaning out the gas block extensively and cycling the action like 100 times before hand

Started with just trying to rack it a bunch with no prevail ended up running a small amount of valve lapping compound on the high friction areas between bolt group and upper and racking the ever living piss out of it to polish out contact spots. Has run mint since. Ive been talking with 313 operator and I believe he is going to be making a video addressing these issues and my fix aswell

Neat! What are the high friction areas you noticed on it if you dont mind?

I imagine it'll be different gun to gun. I sooted the fuck outta the bolt with an oxy torch (not putting heat to it) just using the black soot. Cycled it and anywhere the soot was worn away I added lapping compound after cleaning the soot off

Yes. I was shooting at 100M in the video. I think it’s very accurate. I don’t really understand the MOA thing but shooting 5 round with the rifle laying on the rifle bags it was basically dead on where I was aiming.

It’s the size of your groupings at 100 yards. 1 inch group at 100 yards=1MOA

I think best way to explain is the concept of a MOA is
1" group at 100m 2" group at 200m 3" group at 300m
So a 2.5" group at 200m is like 1.25ish MOA
Imagine your group as a cone that scales evenly the further you go.

you need some LAR mags bra

u/Vsatbtw 1d ago
I have them. But don’t think people should be posting them like they do. It’s pretty stupid and just asking for them to get taken away

And posting a video of one of two scary black semi autos left un banned, in the midst of the bans, is any different?

You know those magazines are a weird grey area. This rifle is not in a grey area. It has an frt from the rcmp, it’s a hunting rifle also fyi 🤣

No Grey area at all. Fully legal. Have had this talk with CO'S shooting on crown. Also use mine for coyotes. Still run the cross mags lol

Why does the dust cover open upwards? doesnt it normally open downwards on other rifles? And lastly does this cause any issues?

I feel like you’re scope needs a higher mount, you look pretty scrunched getting behind it. A nice reptilia or ADM 1.73 would look good. I’ve got. Black ADM 1.73 if you are interested.

They're in the midst of the supreme court stuff so they can't rush to rock the boat or it'd make them look worse.
Nothing is safe long term as long as it's this government though.

Just a friendly suggestion, you may want to look into cheek risers.
If your current stance works for you, that's great!
However, you may find your neck and shoulders get stiff more easily (when shooting) as you age.
I'm glad you're having fun!
