Glad you got it sorted out. What was the issue? You have your post history disabled so can't really see the previous non-final updates.

I’ve got high 2XX, but haven’t had a chance to shoot yet. I am hoping I didn’t get a pre fix release!

Did they start at zero again with the 18.6 rifles? Could've sworn they were at serial ~500 for the American market

I also got mine from RDSC. It worked flawlessly luckily. I guess the only thing I can think of that was an issue for the first few mags was that the bolt wouldn’t stay back after the last round. It was closing like it had another round to go. But after 3 magazines that issue stopped. I believe the rifle was stiff to start. I’ve shot about 500 rounds through mine now

The 10 rds plastic mags that are coupled upside down are cross mags. Those will sadly be more and more uncommon as cross industries declared bankruptcy.

Glad you got it figured, still sucks that you gotta put a couple hundred dollars worth of ammo to make it run

I mean, you were gonna put those rounds through it either way. Would you prefer to buy a brand new rifle that has been fired a few hundred times?

This is my third and last post about the Makasi. Before I begin, I don't want people to think I'm a doomer (or now that I have a positive review, a shill). I am just a guy that likes guns and thought people deserved to see one of the first NR Makasi's.
Here is my second post about the Makasi and my initial review: https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/s/FH0Y4Ei8Ti
As you may recall, there were a ton of issues and the rifle functioned as a straight pull. This was after applying CLP to the rifle and even disassembling the bolt. The first trip put me up to 80 rounds with my second trip a few days later putting me to 300 rounds.
I had enough and took the rifle back to the RDSC. They were chill and ended up removing the gas system and giving it a deep clean. The issue seems to have been with the gas system not being clean or still having some factory gunk inside. I got the rifle back yesterday and took it out to the range.
I went through an additional 300 rounds during the range session and had zero issues. The rifle reliably fed from the issued 5 rd PMag, Duramags and Crossmags. My local range also let me use their 30 rd PMags and I have a video of myself mag dumping 2x 30 rd mags with no stoppages or any issues.
Later on a guy with another Makasi showed up and we shot together. He had zero issues. Notably, his rifle was a higher serial # and he didn't even clean it but it shot flawlessly.
This video is from the end of the session. I intentionally filmed myself running through 1x duramag, 2x crossmags and the 1x 5 rd PMag. You can also see the other Makasi dude having no issues with his rifle in the background.
I am happy with the rifle and recommend new owners to fully take a part their gas systems. I will also note that the break in period led to no further issues with the charging handle. Everything feels smooth.
Ultimately, other rifles in the world are more reliable out of the box but this is what we have left. A weird hybrid rifle from a boutique manufacturer. Despite all the issues, the rifle feels good and the customer service with RDSC and Brigade has been excellent.
You can expect no more updates from me. I feel like this is a natural conclusion to my introduction to the rifle. Make your own decision and I am looking forward to seeing more detailed reviews.
