That was brand new out of the box. It’s really smooth that was the fourth fifth and sixth round through it.

Bloody hell that is a nice looking rifle. That wood is gorgeous. Hope these run well long term

I like the look maybe more than the Marlin SBL. It looks like a straight full on copy with nicer wood.

There was also a marlin SBL at the Range tonight I put them side-by-side. The only difference I could find was the sling swivel mounts and it uses flathead instead of torque bits for the top rail, other than that It looks to be a one-to-one copy of the Marlin in my opinion

It’s wild the price on it. You have to wonder about durability. On the other hand I think Marlin is charging a huge premium for the name and the fact that the design just looks great.

The name also comes with a pretty good backing (especially now that they're under a different mother company).
I'd trust a marlin over a Turkish lever any day

Even for the premium they still suffer from the Marlin "bop", horribly crooked rear sights and a razor sharp kings gate. Would be hilarious if the Kodiak didn't have those same issues.

I do agree the price is a little much in my taste, but if it proves to hold up and you’re not a namebrand snob, this would just be a cheaper marlin so it would save you money, especially since Marlin parts are interchangeable with this so all the Magpul furniture can go on this if you wanted to and aftermarket triggers

I’m shocked Kodiak made that.

they didn't. an underpaid worker in turkey did

Oh I apologize.
I’m shocked that Turkey made this and I’m shocked Kodiak actually didn’t cheap out on who they hired to do it, even if the labour was slightly above slavery.
Better?

Amazing. Glad to hear it. Now get back in the workshop because we gotta pump these bad boys out faster than Gary can collect his acorns.

Did you by any chance buy one after seeing my post on here about them the other day? I didn't think anyone knew about these when I stumbled across them.
What a beautiful rifle. Honestly that is some gorgeous wood. I was sort of tempted but so many people said dont bother etc.
Man, what beautiful grain. I may have to grab one. Been wanting to replace my R95 cause rossi is kinda garbage.
