what's do you guys think is the best platform and caliber for longe range shooting?

Im using an Accuracy International AX rifle currently chambered in 308

Do you set up a perimeter around your target warning others of the target?

there's a big hill behind it as ui can see plus this area is so remote that you can only access it in the summer,
