Fix my gun New SIG Cross .308
Never seen a rifle BNIB come in like this before.
I wonder if it would be fine after cleaning but leaning towards just returning it since these are far from cheap firearms

this would only be borderline tolerable on a milsurp and only if clearly disclosed beforehand

I thought you were out in the desert field testing it by dragging it through sand.

Dude, I have multiple 130+ year old firearms and iv never seen something like that. Straight up return that before it starts rusting out your damn house.

How is this even a question? Of course it should be returned... shouldn't matter if its a SIG or Savage Arms... no firearm BNIB should any trace of rust.

Absolutely wild. Just got my 6.5 cross 3 days ago, absolutely nothing like this.

Yikes the threads in the choke tube on my new 590r were slightly rusty but not that bad I cleaned and brushed it out good and you’d never know now but that’s bad

I am not even sure it's rust. Looks like a sand/dirt to me. Still not acceptable

Lol I remember someone about 2 years ago got a brand new in box Sig cross and was quite excited about it, then he opened the box and looked down the bore and saw visible fuzzy rust sporadically through the entire bore

Someone dropped that barrel down in dirt.
Either retailer sold you a used gun or this is a rage bait post.

Return that.
The rifle was clearly stored / transported incorrectly at some point between the manufacturer and you.
This is why we coat our guns in oil. You need to clean it before using it, but at least it wont be rusted.
