Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

I have rural clients in southern Alberta, happens all the time everywhere in the rurals minus the shots fired in 99% of cases I suppose. It's honestly sad and infuriating, damned if you don't try to protect your property and livelihood, damned if you do.

While I hope he catches a break, at the same time:

It's so fucking simple, don't waltz outside of your house and start shooting at trucks into the night.

Guns to defend your life and family.

Not to defend the honour of your fucking diesel.

And it's one thing if the thieves are armed, but you can't just shoot a rifle into the dark.

For me, it's as simple as can be. Rifles are for killing. If you're using it, you have the reason.

Stopping diesel theft isn't that.

But brinks truck drivers that's okay? The guards at the mint that's okay? Is it because some is the the rich and the governments money and goods but when it's the peons goods suddenly it's not okay to kill people for property? To me this reeks of hypocrisy.
