Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Holy negativity, this week’s sub started with just defeatism, did I miss something? Whys everyone’s so negative, yall pissed that the spas12 got sold out?

Last I checked everyone still has their guns, buyback is failing miserably (I’m predicting only 30,000 collected by the end). Public safety update their numbers saying “we have collected, destroyed and declared 142,000 guns” notice they are now looping in gun stores, individuals, declarations and collecting now, they can’t even just say one number….thats how bad its failing.

Police forces are still understaffed, illegal gun crimes are exploding.

We still have a pending court battle which contrary to some on here, it does matter and there is hope with it.

So stop buying into the doomerism folks, it’s not helping at all. Plus let’s just say nothing works out….they still can’t collect them and we’ll have our guns forever…

They’re negative because the gun control groups are pushing articles and talking to news outlets in an attempt to drum up support for keeping the program alive and every time it happens, people get rattled.

That's how it starts all the time. Half the time i wonder if it's anti gunners trying to make us feel bad and give up.

I swear I thought gun ownership also came with a feeling of independence, self sustaining and the ability to defend one’s self. One thing I honestly respect about Americans is they say fuck you to anyone. Dems, republicans and hippies, they just don’t care.

Here in Canada, even the gun owners are belly up and begging. Pathetic

Squeaky wheel gets the oil. Our numbers don't lie. Majority of gun owners have told Ottawa no. Thank God there incompetent authoritarians
