Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

People buying these things before the SCC decision are risking the same lesson crypto owners got. If we win, the SCC just gives the govt time to amend the law as they do and banned the MK15/Carmel will be.

We lose, another OIC when they need a headline and banned the MK15/Carmel will be.

Basically, the only sign the feds might give up (and thats a big if) is if they do a post loss presser, say something about trying but respect the law, let nancy or whatever the fuck her name is go on a drunken bender on live tv to rant and rave and then triple down on we need to focus our attention solely on fighting the orangeman.

I haven’t been on the sub for a while and last time was when the SCC thing came into place and I was under the assumption that if we won that then most of the OIC’s would be removed is some way and we would have our guns back. Am I wrong?

Wrong. The OICs stay in place while the government goes and passes a bill instead. Which is super stupid if you ask me.

So it does nothing and I should throw my hope out the window

Basically yeah. That’s what I’ve done.
