Application / Regulation advice SBI G3 chassis 10/22 OAL question

Hi everyone, I’m planning on a 10/22 build with the G3 chassis. I was planning on using a Neumann folding buffer to picatinny adaptor on it. But eventually I want to buy a shorter barrel around 12 inch for it. With the folding stock I’m sure it’s going to be shorter than 26 inch.

So will I have to swap the stock for a telescopic buffer type adaptor that would be min 26 while collapsed? And would that even still be legal? Considering I could remove the stock and it would still be fireable. Or does the fact the buffer tube would require tools to remove make it ok? Our laws are so vague and I don’t wanna get in any hot water over it!

Holy fuck b'y shit already looks fire. I know its not the answer to your post, but, heck im gonna get this for my 10/22 instead of buying an adler arms rf22

Removing the buffer tube on the rf224 is the only thing I haven’t been able to do. I tried heat but they glued the dang thing on!!! If I could go back in time I’d have never bought one lol. You can cheap out on some purchases, but a rimfire is one you should spend extra on IMHO

Thanks for actually drifting me away from that firearm. To me the ruger 10 22 has been the king when i wanna shoot 22lr and plink my boxes away, but my thirst for an ar style firearm just never seems to die at all. Id stick to the advice

Yeah the whole thought process of “I can get an almost-10/22 with a lot of extras for dirt cheap” is very tempting, I mean, if you genuinely don’t care about your gun I guess it still holds up, but if you really appreciate quality you have to get the genuine article. If your long term plan is to replace everything, just go slow with it.
