Application / Regulation advice SBI G3 chassis 10/22 OAL question

Post image

Hi everyone, I’m planning on a 10/22 build with the G3 chassis. I was planning on using a Neumann folding buffer to picatinny adaptor on it. But eventually I want to buy a shorter barrel around 12 inch for it. With the folding stock I’m sure it’s going to be shorter than 26 inch.

So will I have to swap the stock for a telescopic buffer type adaptor that would be min 26 while collapsed? And would that even still be legal? Considering I could remove the stock and it would still be fireable. Or does the fact the buffer tube would require tools to remove make it ok? Our laws are so vague and I don’t wanna get in any hot water over it!

Thanks guys, happy shooting

You need an 18" barrel to have a folding stock. Just go non-folding stock with 12.5", the rifle balances better and is still compact. Source: I designed it.

So the fixed buffer tube adaptor will be factored into OAL? Also I’m looking to buy the chassis from Magdump, by the looks of it it’s your direct retailer for the G3, correct? Thanks!

Yes it is, the fixed buffer tube counts towards OAL.

We own and operate MagDump
