Shitpost / Memes Convincing the boss
I know there’s a lot of guys on here who say “Buy once/cry once or who buy it and sneak it into the safe but let she realistic…
How do you convince the wife, between mortgage, bills, renovations, etc. etc. to not lose her absolute mind when you want to drop $1000+ on a new firearm?
I’m trying to have a happy marriage here folks. Give me your tips/strategies

Step 1. Be financially secure. If you are risking your mortgage payment or rent or car payment for this gun, your are doing it wrong.
Step 2. Space them out. Let's say you buy 1 gun a year, that's a far far easier pill to swallow than buying multiple guns all the time.
Step 3, make it fair. You spend 1k? She spends 1k. Easier with a wife who likes shopping, or has expensive hobbies (you ever look at the cost of good yarn??? It's wild!) Basically if you both spend the same on fun, she can't complain.
Step 4. Control other hobbies. If you are spending tons of money on cars and games and other hobbies, she is going to be less receptive. Instead focus on the guns. Instead of presents, get cash to spend on guns. Save birthdays and Christmases and extra spending cash until you can buy one.
Step 5. Look for a good sale. Wait for a great sale. With all the crazy gun prices, take the time to find a good price. I've saved hundreds by just waiting. Search websites, watch for sales, look used! Getting a 1k gun for 800 bucks is 200 less dollars you have to justify to the Mrs
Step 6. Be aware and help her be aware that your guns do have resale and if things go south, they are worth money. Something no one wants to happen, but remember that your guns likely do hold a fare amount of value. Far far more than MANY Other hobbies. Collecting guns is one of the few hobbies you can sell your stuff and maybe even make money, but at least keep 90% of it. Think of everyone with an old SKS now worth 800 bucks. The old 22 I bought a decade ago for 200 now seems to go for 400 bucks. So be aware, in an emergency, your hobby can be turned into money. This last one hit home having my dad explain how much he had spent on a truck restoration that he will never be able to make back by selling it. Meanwhile my gun collection could easily break even for what I paid, considering how many guns have gone up in price, and how many I bought on sale.
These are all things I do with my wife. It's kept the peace. I don't have a hundred guns, but I have useful and fun guns and a decent number that slowly grows over the years. And a happy wife, that's the most important part.
