I just want cooler firearms. I have no enthusiasm for 22s anymore. Why cant there be more affordable semi auto rifles in more powerful calibers. Lets see a modernized sks or something

yeah.... unfortunately it's almost an instant ban if these designs are chambered in 556. Let's wait to see what the court says this November.

just a scarcity thing, the market for semi auto centrefires and even 22 mag is too small due to the ban and general market demand. Too many Canadians are simply scared of owning a firearm because the media brainwash did actually work. The heavy taxation and limited income isn't helping either as people would've more money to spend on hobbies like sports shooting

Its wild to me. Ive lived in a few countries and I find canadian firearms owners to be some of the most educated and responsible of anywhere ive seen and yet they are treated as some of the most irresponsible and uneducated. It only makes sense to me that the government wants more firepower superiority over its citizens because the public safety thing makes no sense to me at all.

that's what lots of Canadian politician feels internally. They definitely won't say it that way. Even though I don't think Canadian government would ever thought about using military on its people (at least not yet). But imagine a massive group of well regulated and educated gun owners is in your way (in terms of political stands)of expanding the government's power. would you be scared? Plus Canadian firearm laws are not written in constitution black and white like America, so the government is more encouraged to do whatever they want as long as the mass (brainwashed voters) are on their side, and they can slowly take everything away from you. Democracy, or you can call it “the tyrannical majority”.
