Proprietary magazines but 10/22 acceptable? Are they cryptoing the 10/22 mag?

I didn't get to really poke about on it, we were only using their own magazines today, but he said 10/22 mags will be backwards compatible with it, I'm not sure if that will involve an adapter or what
