Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

You should have been more thoughtful of who you were signing away your life to. I made the same mistake at 18.

Isn't it ironic that the same people you're working for are the ones that will inevitably ban your Makasi

The politicians are the direct result of the people of Canada.

Never offer to die for people who hate you.

How you frame it doesn't matter. The reality is you take your orders from your army superiors who get their orders from the LPC. You don't get your orders from the people. And unfortunately the government and the people are two separate entities these days with different agendas rather than the government being an extension of the people.

Do tell me the last time the army served the people of Canada? Like the only thing I can think of is disaster relief and World War 2 (Although denying Spanish civil war veterans while forcing people to fight is rather questionable if you ask me.) But whenever they're used as an actual army not so much. Tell me how was Oka serving the people of Canada and not a golf course? How was getting involved with Afghanistan serving the people of Canada? How about WW1? The Boar War? How about all that "peace keeping"? Like how has that served the people of Canada?

You can actually check that!

https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/services/operations/military-operations/current-operations/list.html

They always list their operations and they've deployed several times just this year for forest fires through Operation LENTUS

And Op PALACI for the avalanches in BC

Also, search and rescue is active at all times across the country.
